  • AutoCreate ContactList from GAB using LDAP?

In Exchange 2003 is there a way to automatically create a CONTACT LIST (not an address list) from the Global Address Book using LDAP? Currently an Employee Contact List exists in Exchange 5.5. that is maintained manually as new employees are hired. This CONTACT LIST is placed in Public Folders for users to access detail information about each employee contact - department, phone number, office location, etc.

In migrating to Exchange 2003, they want to continue to have this Employee CONTACT LIST in Exchange 2003. The reason we are asking if it can be automated, is because in Exchange 2003 you are able to generate distribution lists using LDAP queries very easily. It seems like you should be able to use LDAP queries to create Contact Lists as well. Since all Active Directory User Objects are in LDAP, you should be able to use the GAB to generate contact lists? But, we aren't sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated?

what do you mean by "contacts list" do you simply mean a text\csv file or do you actually mean an Outlook Contacts folder ?

    * Shamelessly mentioning "Don't forget to add reputation!"
