    Re: Symantec Enterprise Vault..

    Doesnt work with NT 3.51
Do you have a more recent server OS? My crystal ball was on the blink

Seriously, without a lot more information on your environment, it is impossible to answer this question. What are you trying to back up to the vault? What volume of data? How many servers?

I have reported this post for moving to another forum as I don't think its Exchange related -- if I'm wrong, please post some more info.
EDIT -- OK, I'm wrong -- EV is purely for exchange, so the post does belong here.

If this is storing the data in one central vault, how fast/reliable are your WAN links?

            Re: Symantec Enterprise Vault..

EV can also archive files as well as mails so it does have additional benefits.
There aren't that many solutions out there and I have personally only dealt with 2 so far. EV and EAS.

I don't think you can have pluses and minuses without comparing it to something though. Do you have anything else in mind or are you wanting a comparison to not having it? It does archive well and with plugins gives good search/compliance possibilities. I think it may be helpful to explain a little more about what you want, then we can tailor answer accordingly.
            cheers
