  • Exchange - Remote Queue (SMTP in DMZ)

    Hello,

Hope someone can help us out. We're trying to find a way to configure a Win2K3 server in the DMZ to accept SMTP emails. These mails should ultimately be transferred to an Exchange server in the LAN. However, we want to avoid sending from the SMTP server to the Exchange server in the LAN.
Is there a way to let the Exchange server read the data in a queue on the SMTP server in the DMZ? Inbound connections (LAN->DMZ) are more easy to accept for security than DMZ->LAN connections (as with classic SMTP forwarding)

All references or solutions are welcome !

    Thx in advance,
    Tim

Re: Exchange - Remote Queue (SMTP in DMZ)

    Hi,

They way you want Exchange Server to read the Queues of SMTP gateway server is not possible. It's not possible to make local smtp service to read remote queue directory. The only way is to forward SMTP Traffic from the SMTP gateway to exchange server.
    Thanks & Regards
