  • OWA, ActiveSync and Smart Cards

    Hi Guys,

One of our clients is contemplating moving to Smart Card door entry in their office, and adding Smart Card logon for all users. We've been investigating this, and we're trying to find out how OWA and ActiveSync/Push Email will work, if indeed they will at all with Smart Card logons enforced. They're currently using Exchange 2003 and planning to use external trusted certificate authorities.

As far as I can tell enabling Interactive Logon: Require Smart Card means that I can no longer logon to OWA or use ActiveSync with my username and password, and our Windows Mobile 6 phones don't have any option that we can find for installing a smart card certificate and prompting for a PIN rather than a username and password.

Any advice, experience etc greatly appreciated.
