  • Microsoft Exchange 2003 Send and Receive email thru Exchange server +OWA

    Dear rescuers,
I really need help. I have a W2K3 infrastructure with a single domain. example, abc.com. my email server is email.abc.com. i will skip the firewall, the wan config because I have this exchange server sitting inside my company locally. I recently successfully installed a member server (2k3) and installed exchange 2003 enterprise with SP2 on top of it. Now I want to know how to make this server working so the following will work correctly:

    1. MS outlook 2003 or 2007 able to connect to the exchange server thru either server name or OWA afterward.

    2. I need to know what configurations do I need to perform after finish running forestprep, domainprep, etcc...

    3. I want to know how to make sure server working actually after post successful instation. such....smtp, pop3, exchange if so..... if anyone can provide me with good source website..salute..

    - I basically need a solution to go on after finish installing the exchange server on a member server. Should there be a exchange schemes appears with AD Users and Computers?
    - If i remember correctly 7 years ago i played around installing ms exchange 2003 ent on a windows 2003, the additional ms exchange schemes appeared/integrated with the AD Users and Computers management schemes.

Please help...this is good enough for now. Please direct me to a good website where how to configure smtp, pop or IIS to get OWA working.

    Thank you again,
    DYKIRIN

    Re: PLEASE HELP!!MS Exchange 2003 CONFIG Send/Receive +OWA

    HELO

    1. MS outlook 2003 or 2007 able to connect to the exchange server thru either server name or OWA afterward.

    > Configure Outlook profile using Exchange and check if you are able to send and receive email locally and to internet

    For Owa
    > Do this on the server http://localhost/exchange or http://FQDN of the exchange/exchange or http://local_ip_address/exchange
Note: This will work only if you don't have certificate installed.

    2. I need to know what configurations do I need to perform after finish running forestprep, domainprep, etcc...

    > Nothing. You already ran forest prep and domain prep and you have exchange installed.
    is it correct ?
you can download this tool and ran against installed exchange server to tweak the exchange server

    www.exbpa.com
    download Exchange Best Practice Analayser

    Do a search on technet.microsoft.com
    uses google like this
    exchange pop3 configuration site:technet.microsoft.com

First of all 7 years ago Exchange 2003 wasn't released.
Yes, when you run forest prep it extends the schema which means there will be new attribute (Exchange specefic) added to active directory user, group objects.

In what way was his post off topic? He seemed to answer your question.
