  • How do you install OWA on a single Exchange server?

I have a small business client with only one Windows 2003 server running Exchange.
I would like to setup OWA, but all the docs I read say I need two servers - front end and back end.

Is there a way to setup OWA with just one server (with SSL as well)

    thanks

OWA is installed and running on a default installation.

It's not recomended to put the single server on the internet though as this would mean you have to put the server in your DMZ, which is where the front end comes into play.

But it is technically possible to have OWA on a single server, also running over SSL (just install cert as normal).

You don't need two servers as topper says but it is highly recommended.

        firewall port forwarding

It sounds like I would just have to forward https on the firewall to the Exchange server, at that point
        is that correct?

add also a certificate (create you're own of buy one..)
also it isn't recommended to pass https directly of you're server (if he carries everything.)

I also go with te rest, use front-end / back-end..

i think this is the way...

there is no other conifuration to setup OWA. OWA is enabled and conifured to use by default. but to setup a secure OWA needs some configuration. First you have to issue one certificate and configure that certificate in ur server.
