  • Monitoring a particular user's outgoing mail

    Hi There

I have a potential security issue and have been requested to read all incoming and outgoing mail for a particular user.

Trouble is the user is quite switched on and deletes all sensitive mails properly, so I can't just setup a mail client on another machine and read the mail.

To monitor the incoming mail I have setup a "contact" in AD that is hidden from Exchange Address Lists, with an SMTP mail address and have setup a Forward and set that mail gets delivered to both mailboxes, but this still leaves me unable to read the outgoing mail.....

    Any suggestions welcome....

    I'm on Exchange2000 hosted on 2003SBS.

    Thanks in advance

    Stu

I assume you mean Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003?

You can journal the whole store (and keep a close eye on the size)?
    or
    You could try this?

    Some info:

Possibly use Exmerge to get the specific users mail into a PST?
    cheers

Well spotted Andy - wouldn't say I was tired but it seems all dexterity is fading now too!

This works a treat thank you!
