  • POP3 Server Not Functioning Correctly

    exchange server @ my work place is not functioning correctly.
    server status - available
    all exchange related service started
    webmail working
    only pop3 is not working.
    client : outlook, thunderbird
    when i tried to telnet to the server 110, it all responded with +OK until i put pass xxx for the password. the server did not respond anything until it give me a timeout.

    os. windows 2000 server
    exchange 2000

        sorry and thanks for the title

        nothing in the application log
        system log
        schannel : A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL server credential.
        => still trying to remove symantec AV 10 (maybe this is the problem for the above ssl thing)

        currently trying maximum diagnostic logging for connection and authentication

          symantec av removed. currently working fine.
          will check back again tomorrow.
