    I am having the same problem...

    Error I get: A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator.

    System setup:
    Windows Standard Server 2003 SP2
    Exchange 2003 SP2
    Single server setup
    Router controlled firewall w/ proper port forwarding
    Using self issued certificate

    Problem: Can't get OMA to work on a Windows Mobile v5.1.195 (on a Microsoft Device Emulator), or on client's PDA Windows Mobile v6.?

    After trying for a couple of weeks to get this going I'm getting frustrated. Spent last night going through your forums and config instructions. Came in today and performed the following steps:
    1. Backed up the default Web Site to a config file.
    2. Reset virtual folders to default following instructions in MSKB 883380
    3. Immediately checked OWA and test client for RPC over HTTP/s. Both of these worked fine, and have been since initial installation of exchange.
    4. As a follow up, I walked through your guide http://www.petri.co.il/configure_rpc_over_https_on_a_single_server.htm.
    and verified that all stages of this guide were working.
    5. Followed your config http://www.petri.co.il/configure_oma.htm
    6. Followed your config http://www.petri.co.il/configure_ssl_on_oma.htm

    Results:
    • OWA and Outlook clients using RPC over HTTP/s work fine
    • OMA testing inside the network:

    http://FQDN(internal)/OMA = 403.4 error (SSL required) - expected
    https://FQDN(internal)/OMA = I get a cert warning and accept. I then get a login prompt. Once username/pass entered I get "A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator."
    http://FQDN(external)/OMA = 403.4 error (SSL required) - expected
    https://FQDN(external)/OMA = I get a cert warning and accept. I then get a login prompt. Once username/pass entered I get "A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator."

    Process and results are the same on internal and external networks.

    I have researched this problem and tried solutions from the following:

    There were a few other posts that I had tried previously as well, but they've been lost in the chaos.

    My emulator shows the same results as indicated above. When I try ActiveSync on the emulator I get:
    ActiveSync encountered a problem on the server
    Support code: 0x85010014

    Syncronization failed

    I have run BPA and it came back with no problems (cept I need a backup).

    Suggestions, tips, advice...I'll take whatever you can give. Let me know if you need more info.

          i am also having the exact same issue. i first had the issue where domain.com/oma would return a runtime error. i attempted the aspnet_regiis.exe fix suggested in one of the microsoft technet articles and that still did not fix the issue. i used a cleanup tool to uninstall .net framework and reinstall them. i got rid of the error but still had the "A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator." error.

          i have read and followed all the articles on petri.co.li that deal with configuring rpc over http/s, owa, oma, etc.

          i have a trusted certificate installed on my server also with the help of petri.

          i have done everything the the guy above said he tried and i am not able to fix https://domain.com/oma

          can you please PM the solution to me? i dont want to resort to creating a new virtual directory unless thats the only way to fix this.

          one way that my installation may be different is the fact that i installed .net framework 3.5 BEFORE i configured my windows server 2003 as a domain controller.

          i had this installation and outlook mobile access working perfectly before i had to reformat my server.
