  • remove exchange server

    Hi, I am new here.

I have some problems that need help.

Currently I have exchange server 2003 running on an ols machine, which becomes unreliable lately. I just bought a new computer and which to configure it as a new exchange server. I understand that I could install second exchange server into the same AD and transfer mail boxes, public folders etc. to the second server. How could I gracefully remove the old exchange out of the AD ?

    Thanks.

If you want to replace the old Exchange server with the new Exchange server this is the best and easiest way:

I am not a fan of the backup/restore method using the DR switch. The only way that I will move data is using swing migration http://www.amset.info/exchange/migration.asp
