  • Share all users mailbox?

    Hi,
Is there a good way (like powershell) to make all users mailboxes automatically shared to everyone in the organization?

    Only read permissions that is!

Lots of ways, simply Google for people who have found their servers are like that and reverse the instructions to undo the problem.

However do ensure that your users know that is being done, as it allows EVERYONE (and I do mean everyone, including the boss) access to everyones mailboxes.

Why would EVERYONE need access to EVERYONE else's boxes? May as well just have one email account that they all share.

I didn't see the bit about read only - that isn't possible at all. There is no way to grant read only access to all mailboxes. The only permission available is full access which allows the user to do anything they like to the mailbox.

I would strongly suggest that you query the client further with what they want to achieve. You also need to check with local laws and regulations as it may well be illegal unless everyone in the company has agreed (and it would have to be everyone, one exception would stop you from doing it).

          Thanks for the replies.
The customer knows that its full mailbox access or nothing.
To give only read rights of the calendar they need to user Outlook 2007.

They still consider share everyone's mailbox even tho its not the most secure way!

There is no problem granting more limited rights in older versions of Outlook!

Yes but this has to be done by each Outlook user; and can still be done this way. However what the OP wants is a way of doing this en bloc for the entire organisation at the back end; i.e. using Exchange. If you grant server side rights in Exchange, you get full access, end of. There is no granularity to server side rights.
