  • Shared Mailbox with no deletion

I have a customer with a constantly rotating group of customer service agents. They need no other email besides a main customer service inbox. I cannot allow deletions of emails either sent or recieved and need them all located in that particular mailbox

No problem making Customer Service their Primary mailbox but I can find no way of restricting the deletion of the messages

Any suggestions as to how to accomplish this?

    Using Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003

Can't be done if they don't have their own mailbox.
To open the mailbox in Outlook they need Full Mailbox Access. With that permission you cannot restrict what they can do with the messages. Full Mailbox means exactly that - and they can do what they like.

If they had their own mailbox and this was an additional mailbox then restrictions can be placed on them. Another option would be public folders, which can also be restricted.

Bummer, thanks for the definate help. I think I'm going to run the mailbox with full access and keep an archive of all recieved or sent in a public folder. Just gotta find out how to pull all sent messages from that particular address.

Journaling is done on a per store basis. If you are using Enterprise edition then you could put the mailbox in to its own Store.
Otherwise you have to look at a third party tool such as Selective Journaling from ivasoft.biz
