  • New Accounts Do Not Appear in the GAL for Three Days

It may look stupid but I am searching for this solution for a week now...

SP upgrade, rebooting, reading, trying, rebooting

It take a long time before the new user appears in the GAL 3 days....
is there a way to accelerate the process ?

    Thank you

I have moved your post to a new thread. Do not hijack other threads for something unrelated.

Re: New Accounts Do Not Appear in the GAL for Three Days

If your clients are in cached mode then it can take up to 48 hours for a new user to appear in in Outlook. This is because of the way that the Offline Address Book is generated and how Outlook downloads it.

The OAB is only generated once per day by default - which can be changed.
However Outlook only downloads the OAB from the server once every 24 hours or when Outlook is restarted. That cannot be changed.

You need to be sure whether the problem is new users not appearing in the GAL or the OAB.
You can check the GAL live through OWA. If the user shows in OWA then it is the OAB issue. If the user does not show in the GAL through OWA then you have a more serious problem.
