  • Read error from mailhost

    Good Morning Everyone,

I'm experiencing a problem getting my exchange server to receive email that was previously hosted by an external company. I changed the MX records to point directly to my mailhost and since then i get this error when sending to it:

    451 4.4.1 reply: read error from mailhost.radstone.co.uk.
<****@radstone.co.uk>... Deferred: Connection reset by mailhost.radstone.co.uk.

I can send email externally through the server and send internally but since the MX records were changed I can't receive mail.

Any help would be much appreciated

    Many Thanks
    Tatie

    Re: Read error from mailhost

what mail system are you using?

Are all your firewall rules open to allow inbound TCP 25 to your mailserver?

Can you telnet from an external host to mailhost.radstone.co.uk on port 25 and send a manual email that way?

Are there any spam\virus filters in between external relays and your mailserver?

      Something is blocking port 25.
      I cannot connect to mailhost.radstone.co.uk

Could be a firewall, AV or your ISP. Have you opened port 25 inbound on your firewall?

      Simon.
