  • Use Standard CD-Key with Enterprise CD?

I seem to have misplaced my MS Exchange Server 2003 Standard CD. I have a copy of the enterprise CD, but do not need, nor want Enterprise installed. If I use my Standard CD Key, will that give me standard?? I'm guessing not, but thought I would ask... If not... Does anyone know the proper steps involved to get a replacement CD from Microsoft? I purchased the software from Dell about 2 Years ago....

    1. No - it will just tell you the key is invalid (as far as I know).

    2. You should contact Dell - not Microsoft - as it was an OEM copy you bought. Dell should have records and should be able to issue a replacement. HOWEVER them may make a charge. I suggest making a "Safe" copy of the CD and storing it in said safe for future use.

There are no OEM copies of Exchange.
You either have retail or volume.
Volume does not have a key, retail does.
However Dell should be able to get you a media set - in fact any distributor should. If you have Exchange on volume licensing then you should be able to download it from the volume licensing site.

My bad sorry - I misread it 'cos I'm tired and thought it was Windows 2003...
