  • Exchange 2003 on fixed Ip, internet on dynamic

    Hi all,

Can anyone answer this?. Basically I am moving our company over to a domain to make life a bit easier. Can anyone tell if I can have a fixed IP from our ISP for our planned exchange server and a Dynamic Ip for on a different line for internet access?. I.e Internet explorer goes out through the dynamic ip. Can this be done through the proxy on IE?.

You cannot have two default gateways on a Windows Server.
Dual homing an Exchange server isn't a good idea either.

If you have a static IP address for the server then route all traffic through that. Give the Exchange server a different default gateway to everything else.
