I tried ScanPST but it says there is no error , pst is sufficient to store more mails ..earlier this pst size was 800 MB but suddenly its size changes to 0KB..so is there any solution for this ..

      Re: PST crashes

That is what PST files do. If you value the email then you don't use PST files. As already pointed out - a backup is your only option. However PST files are notoriously hard to backup reliably, so there is a good chance that email has gone.

          Re: PST crashes

If the file size says 0kb, the data has gone.
You cannot recover what isn't there.

Valuable lesson I feel that you should have backups and/or use a more reliable technology.

            Re: PST crashes

A PST recovery tool will only work if there is something to recover. If the file size is 0kb then there is nothing to recover.

I have lost my pst file last month.I am unable to repair it with the help of inbox repair tool.I used pst recovery software. It is very easy to use and recovers all my corrupted data. Since you are not able to repair your pst by scanpst. May be your pst is badly corrupted and damaged. You can try REMOVED LINK software. This software repair and recovers even password protected and encrypted pst file. Firstly download the demo version and see the preview of some recoverable pst file from the site
              REMOVED LINK
After seeing the preview of your important data go for full version to complete your recovery.

Sembee you are so cruel!!! But alas its sound an excellent advice. Scanpst is fairly limited in terms of how it can repair the file structure. MS recommend that PST`s can grow as large as 2GB!!! Iv seen them corrupt at less than 50MB. Outlook crashing and literally any manner of reasons can be the cause. Time to enable VSS methinks and get used to using NTBACKUP. I cannot stress enough to my clients the importance of backups.
