  • Help Please,webmail Problem

    Hi

i have server 2003 spk2 with exchange 2003 and users have come in this morning, about 15 of them cannot open their webmail, it just says it is loading and nothing else, other users are fine,,, it is a bit confusing, has anyone else had or know about this problem

    regards

Can these 15 users ping the server, are they all connected via the same switch, can they connect to the file share ok?
If they use a "working" machine can they logon ok?
Do they get a logon box or just timeout trying to connect to the first page?
    cheers
    Andy

hi , yes they can get to the server, webmail starts up, they just cannot drag the mail down,, you can see they have mail, , but it just says loading, thats all, if 1 of the 15 users log onto another machine, which works ok thier webmail still does not work,, then the original user logs back on, webmail is fine and works ok, so, that kind of rules the machine out, and i guessing it is exchange mailboxes,

i have restarted all the services i can think of, apart from restarting the server i think i have done everything, but i cannot do that until out of hours

            Re: Help Please,webmail Problem

What changed? Something has to have changed as servers do not stop working on their own - particularly if it isn't affecting all users.
There was nothing released overnight that I am aware of from Microsoft.

Loading is quite common and there is an entire article on the MS KB about diagnosing it.

I can't see that would be the cause of the problem. It seems to be something connected to Japanese input, which is why I didn't see it on any of my systems.

hi, yes been through the article,, it really has stumped me,, but before i make the support call to ms, i am going to try this...

                      http://support.microsoft.com/?id=831464

this is exactly what is happening, if this does not work then i think the call will be made, i am expecting them to get me to delete the virtual directories and recreate.

i'll let you know the outcome

yeah try the workaround first to see if it will resolve the issue.

Random thought, is the licensing service running?
