  • Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to add the local computer

I am running exchange on 2003 SP2 server and I am getting this warning and error 4 times an hour. I have tried looking for the information with little to no success, the best I have found told me to Restart the System Attendant service. and some of the MS exchange services but I can't seem to find the system attendant service. Here are the event application error and warnings.
    **
Microsoft Exchange System Attendant has detected that the local computer is not a member of group 'cn=Exchange Domain Servers,cn=Users,dc=jcbsdd,dc=com'. System Attendant is going to add the local computer into the group.

The current members of the group are 'CN=xxx,OU=Servers,DC=jxxx,DC=com; '.
    *****

Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to add the local computer as a member of the DS group object 'cn=Exchange Domain Servers,cn=Users,dc=jxxx,dc=com'.

Please stop all the Microsoft Exchange services, add the local computer into the group manually and restart all the services.

Re-run domain prep from the Exchange CD. You can do that during production hours as it isn't destructive. Then restart the SA service.
