  • Mount Public Folder from another server on new server?

I have an instance where an Exchange 2003 server was migrated to a new one and since had Exchange 2003 removed from the old server. I thought I replicated everything, but a couple of public folders did not move over.

I have the pub1.edb and pub1.stm files from the old server. Can I mount those on the new server and extract the data? Or extract it offline?

These two servers were in the same forest and part of the same Exchange organization.

Those public folders almost certainly will not mount on the existing server.
    You have two options.

    1. Rebuild the Exchange 2003 server that you removed, and then use the existing files.
    2. Get hold of On Track PowerControls to extract the data from the raw files.

Considering the cost of Ontrack Power Controls, you will probably do the former.

Oh yeah! I forgot about Ontrack PowerControls. I think I have a friend with that since he mentioned it before. I will just take the data to his location. Thanks again!
