  • Multiple SMTP Connectors

I have a situation where I need some emails to be sent via the DNS default smtp virtual server and other need to be sent via a smarthost.

This issue is caused by the autoforwards to Blackberry hanheld that refuse to forward anything via the proper smart host route. Correction it will forward the Internal mail but externals get a bounceback for relaying.

The Smarthost was added when somedoamins decided to bounce for the reverse as the ISP will not change the reverse even though it is a paid for static business account.

In the end I would like to have a way that all mail goes through the smarthost other then *@*.blackberry.net. ie. [email protected] or [email protected]. Yep the site made it even more fun since thier blackberries are from different providers.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: Multiple SMTP Connectors

Ensure that there isn't a smart host set on the SMTP virtual server. If there is, remove it.
Then you can configure multiple SMTP connectors.

The one with * on it needs to be the highest cost.
I can't remember whether @*.domain works. I don't think it will. That will mean you will have to add each domain to the list.

Of course you could avoid all this by adding a BES to the environment instead. Without a BES you are basically using 10% of the Blackberry functionality.
