  • Mail from a mailbox disappeard during Outlook Update

    Hi,

We have Exchange 03 used with Outlook 03 & OWA.

A user temporarily needed to use another worksation. When I setup her Mailbox only 3 emails appeared in the inbox. (She should have much more than that)

I powered up her old workstation, opened outlook.
In her mailbox, there were over 700 emails in inbox...
on the bottom right it said "updating folders" (something like that)
as I'm watching the email count goes from 700 to about 3 (one day worth of emails)

I'm puzzled! Where did they all go? there are no rules setup. I Checked Current View, it is set to all messages. It didn't go to the spam folder or any other folder.
It is not in Archive or pst.
in System Manager under her mailbox it says total items: 3260.

    Any Ideas?

    thanks,

Rule, view, corrupt OST file, PST file located somewhere else.
Those messages have been downloaded somewhere else - another workstation most likely and the OST file has updated to reflect that change. You need to find the PST file.

    Simon.
