  • problem with old email domain

    Hello guy's....
    I have one exchange 2003 with some domain on it.
    i remove one of the domain (by the book), and still i can't send mail to them.
    i check the RUS & recipient policies & check the AD file that no track of the old domain is there. and still nothing.
    i gut an error with #5.1.1

    if someone know.... so please help me.

    Have you removed the domain from the user accounts? Removing it from recipient policy isn't enough, as that doesn't remove it from the user accounts. If you have lots of users, then use admodify.net (same URL) to remove the addresses.

          If you have removed the domain from recipient policy and the email addresses from the user accounts, then it could indicate that recipient update services is not updating the SMTP part of IIS correctly and the server still thinks the domain is local.

          To fix that you are either looking at a hack of the IIS metabase or reinstalling IIS. In both cases I would suggest a call to Microsoft PSS because both of those can cause damage to the Exchange server, resulting in loss of data or inbound email.
