  • Migrating from PST to Exchange 2007 Mail Rules

Well I'm about ready to go live with our exchange system. I'm really new to this but here we go.
    Server
    Exchange 2007

    Clients
    Vista Business SP1
    Outlook 2007 SP1

One thing I'm trying to figure out is. I've got one user that uses mail rules hard core. Well if I drag his folders from the Inbox in Personal Folders into his Exchange mailbox I'm afraid I'll break all those Mail Rules. The rules are already being saved on the server. I just wanted to make sure I do a Perfect 1 to 1 Migration in the users eyes.

Currently the users have two trees similar to this.

    Mailbox- Firstname Lastname
    Deleted Items
    Drafts
    Inbox
    Junk E-mail
    Outbox
    RSS Feeds
    Sent
    Search Folders

    Personal Folders
    Deleted Items
    Drafts
    Inbox
    etc
    etc
    etc
    Junk E-mail
    Outbox
    RSS Feeds
    Sent
    Search Folders

Re: Migrating from PST to Exchange 2007 Mail Rules

I always tell users that rules need to be recreated. Bringing rules across from a PST based solution usually has unpredictable results.
