  • Disabling MAPI client for selective users

    Folks,

I am trying to do the following:

I want to disable MAPI connections to my 2003 Exchange server but have the flexibility to allow some of them to go through.

My goal is to force users to use OWA 2003 instead of the client and I fear that if I leave them an opening they will try to install the client instead of using OWA.

    thanks,

    Pat

You could apply an IPSec policy on the computers you dont want to use MAPI and block the MAPI port. I think the MAPI port is 135. This might work but if the users that do want to use MAPI log onto a computer with policy applied then it will not allow them. The policy works by computer not user.

    Hope this helps
