403 access is denied - OWA password has expired

    I'm getting an HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied when trying to access OWA with an account who's password has already expired. For accounts that are about to expire or users who just want to change their password, it works just fine. The error only occurs on expired passwords or when "must change password at next logon" is checked, everything else is working properly.

    It should be going to mailserver/iisadmpwd/aexp3.asp but the 403 page displays instead. Yep, anonymous access is enabled. Yep, the iusr account has been tested and is working properly. And yep, IISADMPWD is in the exchange application pool.

    Any other ideas on what might be causing this?

    Hi PriTyan. Thanks for the reply. I did try registering iispwchg.dll. It was actually one of the first things I ran across when searching for this issue.

    I just recently noticed something else as well. For accounts that are about to expire, logging into OWA for the first time I also get the 403 error. Clicking refresh, or reopening the page will bring you to the correct screen.

    (Refreshing/reopening on expired accounts does not fix this. Those still always get the 403 no matter what I try to do.)
