  • OWA- New Installation

    Hello,
We have installed Exch2003 on top of W2K3 and it seems to be running fine from both internal and Internet perspectives.

The problem is we are attempting to get the OWA running and from all of the documentation I have read states that the OWA website is enabled by default. But when I attempt to access from inside the LAN using 'http://"servername"/exchange/"username" I get a message on the webpage stating "Service Unavailable".

Not even attempting to access from the Internet until this is fixed! I have looked at the IIS site ExchWeb and everything is set to 'default'

    Any help would be appreceiated.

    Thank you

    Have you tried just http://servername/exchange?

      Yes, same thing- Service Unavailable

More background- Exch & W2K3 on one server, Second Server= DC/DNS/Term Services/File Server. PIX 501- GW

I ran nslookup and DNS seems to be working. When I go into the default ExchWeb site and go to properties everything is set to default- should it be set to 'Exchange'?

      Thanks

Well i did an install of win2k3 and ex2k3 and by default webmail worked fine. I had to install some extra IIS components but that was because i was testing IIS 6 and ASP.NET. Can you reinstall?

Not a good option to reinstall, the server was just cut over to production. I will go back and review the IIS components and see if they are enabled.

Also, SP3 is installed. Could it have reset any of the required components?

          Thanks

Sorry about that Exch 2003 w/SP1.

But, I figured it out. In IIS the Application Pools were not running, I started them and away we go.

              Thanks for the help.
