  • Gaining commercial exchange experience

I've been working with Notes for the last 6 years and want to change jobs and get into an infrastructure job with Exchange. My lack of exchange is a problem though. Can anyone advise on any 'quick wins' I can do to get my Exchange I.Q up? I have been MCSE for coming on 4 years and now have the messaging portion too but time and again I'm being told my lack of exchange hurts my otherwise good C.V.

Get up to speed by reading exchange books, follow forum who topic these technogies. Set it up, test it, mess it up and fix it again. See what's going on, try to grasp what is going on, even provide your vizion when you feel up to it.

There is a lot of good info out there:

And about 2000 other sites and blogs i forgot to mention.

Your experience in Notes, will help you a lot.

Thanks for the info. I'll get cracking. Frustrating as it is I'm just waiting for someone to realise if I can master notes I can master anything!

Remember Exchange is part of the Windows Server System, so you will need some AD, Microsoft DNS and IIS experience and knowledge to go with Exchange

I've got Windows Server. AD. Infrastructure. LAN WAN etc it's just I've had the misfortune of getting it all in Lotus Notes houses.
