  • Shared folders vs Public Folders

    Hy,

I would like to know the differences between shared folders and public folders in Outlook 2003 / Exchange Server 2003.
for ex. contacts folders from a shared folders cannot be added in the Outlook Address Books list ("show this folder as an email address book")while contacts folders from a Public folder can.

Does anybody know where I can find such a comparison sheet?
I looked for it in a lot of places but did not find anything.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    SB.

Not a full chart but still:

Shared folders are part of a user's mailbox. They are located on one server. They can be shared, but they are not separate entities, just parts of your mailbox.

Public Folders are public in origin, can be viewed by all users unless restricted, can be relplicated to more than one server, and can have special email addresses.
