  • Creating an Outlook subfolder on the Exchange 2003

Our customer has an Exchange 2003 server and the clients use Outlook 2003. Is it possible to create outlook subfolders on the Exchange server itself, rather than from Outlook?

    Thanks

If I understood the question right, it depends how exchange delivers messages to Outlook. If its mailbox (ie stored on Exchange itself) then all 'subfolders' created in Outlook will actually be created on Exchange server itself. If Outlook is looking at private folders stored on pc itself then folders are created on that pc. You can check all that fairly easily via OWA.

No, it's not possible to create a folder in a mailbox from the Exchange server itself. It can only be done from the client.

It can be done, but not using any native tools. You would have to get a sink written for you to do it from the server.

And you can do it via OWA as well.
