  • Cached Exchange Mode conundrum

    Hi,

Last week one of my employees found that suddenly, unless Cached Exchange Mode was OFF, his Outlook profile would not update. Today I installed a new laptop for him and figured this problem would go away since the profile would be installed fresh, but NOPE - if Cached Exchange Mode is on he only sees email as current as Feb 5!

In the past I've been able to fix this for people by going to this folder...

    --
    C:\Documents and Settings\name-of-user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
    --

...and moving everything to an "old" folder, then restarting Outlook. But in this case, with a brand new computer and profile, I'm stumped because the "broken sync" seems to be a problem on the server, not the client.

Ideas for things to check? FYI our clients all use Outlook 2003, but it's an Exchange 2000 server.

    Thanks,
    Brian

What is an Outlook 2000 server?
