  • Disabling Exchange over Internet

I currently have an exchange server setup and for some reason I am able to connect to my exchange server directly over the internet. I have port 135 disabled which I thought was the port that exchange uses to communicate? I only want RPC over HTTPS to be the only way an outlook client can communicate with my exchange server. Is this more of an exchange setting or firewall setting?

    Re: Disabling Exchange over Internet

Check your external firewall. The only ports which should be open to Exchange are 25 (SMTP for incoming mail), 443 (HTTPS for RPC/HTTPS and OWA) and possibly 80 (HTTP)
