  • Restore from NTBACKUP problems (was: NT Backup)

I have a backup of my Exchange server using NTBackup. I want to restore this backup on a non-production server. When I tried it returned a failed report. How can I do this in order to get some mailboxes in the backup file? Help is badly needed. Thank you

What does the failed report say?

Well, how about the event log, anything there?

The report in the event viewer said restoration failed. I don't know what to do. I need one particular mailbox from this backup file. Please help me out.

Which version of Exchange is this?
If it is Exchange 2003 then use an RSG.
If it is an older version then you need to ensure that as much ass possible is identical and that the database is marked to allow overwrite by a restore.
