  • Restrict a group sending internet mail but allow only to a specific internet domain.

I have an Exchange server 2003 Standard Edition and only privileged users can send interne emails. There is a SMPT connector and I have added the restricted users’ group into the “Restrict Messages From” under “Delivery Restrictions” tab. New requirement states allow all users sending emails to a specific internet mail domain which we have acquired recently, including restricted users. How do I keeps the restriction for the “restricted group” and allow sending emails to this new domain. Any bright ideas? Thanks all.

Create a new smtp connector for the domain and give it a lower cost than the current smtp connector. Don't put any restrictions on thios new smtp connector.

      Thanks for the post.

Sorry to let you know, it didn't work. And also this didn't work as well...

01 Created a new SMTP connector to reject all messages by default (Cost 2)
02 Placed the group of users who allowed to send mail to the specific domain to the "accept message from"
      03. On the address space added that specific domain.

      Thanks,
      AJ

        So if you have this:

original smtp connector = cost 10, reject messages from = "restricted group", address space = *

new smtp connector = cost 1, messages from everyone are accepted, address space = specific_domain.com

        It doesn't wotk?

          Hi joeqwerty,

It worked this time. The cost was the trick. Thanks a lot for your help.
