  • Windows Service Pack In An Exchange Cluster

Hellooooooo An Happy New Year for Everyone.

We have an Exchange Cluster SP2 with two nodes, Our Windows 2003 Server Enterprise has Service Pack 1, now we Want to do the update to service pack 2.

In our case, we want to do it as below

Go online to Windows Update (we have a fast Internet connection), first in the node without the resources, stop the cluster service and proceed with the update, restart the server, take the resources and do it in the other node.

To Bear in Mind the partitions of this cluster are in a SAN by HBA (Fiber).

    Also I have this info
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/174799

    Are we Missing Something?.

    Hi,

We have updates Windows SP2 on all of our 50+ exchange servers last month w/o any problem so i think it must be safe for you as well (although few enviornment specific issues may be there).

Just follow the KB mentioned by yourself and it will be all.............
