Re: Exchange contact with 2 email addresses

do you mean you added an alias to a contact (a second smtp address)? when you send to either address, the mailbox will receive it. but there is ONE mailbox with different addresses, and not vice versa

if you want to send an email to one address, and have it distributed to several mailboxes, what you need is a distribution group

Re: Exchange contact with 2 email addresses

i dunno DYasny... the way i read it, he created a contact and then assigned a second SMTP address to the contact.

like he has a contact joe blow(alias blowj) with the email address [email protected]_real.com and he adds joe blow's second email address [email protected] to the same contact, then he is sending a message to the alias blowj, but only the first email address [email protected]_real.com is receiving the message. probably only the primary is receiving the message...

or maybe im reading it wrong. boy, that one is confusing. no offense choriso. maybe you could clarify for us...

if you have two different external addresses and you want both of them to receive the message, then create two contacts and either:
      1. send it to both
      or
      2. create a (qbd) list with the two contacts

then the message is sent to both addresses contained within the group.

did either one of us get it right?

Re: Exchange contact with 2 email addresses

Since it is a Contact that has been added, I get the impression this Contact has an external account. Therefore the Contact's alias (second email address) needs to be added to their account (assuming they use a mail server) at the location where the Contact's account is held.

But enought guessing and tongue twisters. How about Choriso posts back with some real information about his situation so a solution can be offered instead of material for a new Dr Suess book.
