  • Receiving Mail Size Limit Problem

Can't Receive or send over 4mb message.
Global Max size was 4096kb for sending and receiving. I would grant individual users larger sending and receiving sizes as needed.

A couple months back it quit working, we were still on Exchange 2000, so I thought that it was maybe a registry problem and that when I upgraded to Exchange 2003 it would fix the problem, it did not.

I have upped the Global Sending limit to 15700kb and still no user can send an email larger than 4mb. (Those set to default and those set to larger size in their user account)

    Default SMTP Virtual Server Settings
Was 4096kb increased to 15700kb, still not working

When a user tries to send an email larger than the 4mb limit they receive this error: This message is larger than the current system limit or the recipient's mailbox is full. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again. <ServerName.DomainName#5.2.3>

Anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be? Any help is appreciated.
