  • Moving domain and host to new company what happnes to my exchange mail?

Hello this is my first post here, I own a consulting company that does Desktop support and server work.

I have a client with a windows 2003 SE SBS. With exchange server 2003 SP2. My client has recently moved their Domain registar as well as their Hosting from a local company to Go Daddy servers. The transfer will be completed sometime today, my client is concerned that they will not be getting their emails.

Ok so here is what is making me a little nervous.
Right now if I do a Portqry on 110. I get the following.

    C:\>portqry -n www.MYWEBSITE.com -p tcp -e 110

    Querying target system called:

    www.MYWEBSITE.com

Attempting to resolve name to IP address...

    Name resolved to xx.xx.xxx.xx

    querying...

TCP port 110 (pop3 service): LISTENING

    Data returned from port:
    +OK POP3 server1.OLDWEBHOST.com v2003.83rh server ready

So you can see that when I query "My website" it points to the hosting company from which my client moving away from.

So I'm unsure what the configuration is? What will I need to look at and or change on the Exchange server to continue getting emails and what should I be concerned about.

I have worked a little with exchange 5 in the past but not much and never with 2003.

    Thanks.
Working...
