  • Forwarding specific emails only in MS Exchange 2003

    Hi,

I'm trying to forward one users emails to another person in the organization. This is simple enough, however the user that is leaving for a while only needs certain emails that are sent to her address to be forwarded. The emails she needs forwarded are all from the same address. Is there a way to have Exchange forward only specific emails from a certain address and leave all others alone?? Thanks.

    Not really.
You could try creating a rule, but that will probably require Outlook to be running all the time.

I hate to disagree with Sembee but most Outlook rules when connected to Exchange are server side rules (except rules that copy to a pst file, etc.), so Outlook should not need to be running for the rule to be active. A rule that forwards should have no problem with this. Set up the rule and close Outlook to see what happens. Post your results here to let us know.

It depends what the rule is doing. Most rules are server side, but when it comes to trying to identify the message and forward specific messages, it is quite easy for the rule to become client side.
