    Re: global address list

Do your users match the filter query for your global address list (This option is available from Exchange System Manager>Receipients). You may perform a preview of global address list using your selected filter to discover if the user(s) is returned.

Also, is the option 'Hide from exchange addresss lists' enabled for the user(s) object within Active Directory.

Did you close and re-open Outlook after creating the user? If not, try that.

Just type in his/her email address manualy in outlook, and send the initial message to their mailbox, and after that it should show up in GAL.

            Re: global address list

open sysman, go to recipient update services and highlight, move to the right hand window, right-click, and select 'rebuild' on the both the enterprise and site icons.

you can then see the changes immediately.

if you selected to not show this address in the GAL, then you wont see it regardless. you must disable that check box to let outlook check the name against the GAL.

                Re: global address list

When it comes to tracking down issues with users in the GAL, the first thing to do is see if the user can be seen in OWA. OWA uses live information.

If the user can be seen in OWA then it is probably the usual cached mode / OAB issues. Take a look at my article on the problem here: http://www.amset.info/exchange/oab-error.asp
