  • Exchange scrambling attchments

Here is a strange one which may well be familiar to others out there as it is not only us with the problem - all our exchange users are having it. I suspect it may have something to do with MIME?

Using Exchange 2003 SP2 ... when we send an email with an attachment to GMail or Hotmail the attachment ends up as a pile of text on the bottom of the message. Send the same message from a Linux server using sendmail and no problem. The Exchange setup is absolutely 'out of the box' standard. Using the same client each

It is probably the GMail content/av scanners having difficulty with the package but I could really do with some help from a more knowledgeable sysadmin on how to get around this.

I have tried searching the forums but can't think of what search terms to use!

    Many thanks

    Colin

Do the recipients also get a "winmail.dat" attachment with the message?
