  • Accessing OWA with External Address Internally

Please help me to find a solution.
How can I access OWA with External Address Internally?

I have Exchange 2003 with OWA setup.
I can access OWA from Internet by going https://mail.domain.com/exchange
Internally I can access OWA only by going to https://server/exchange.
How can I access OWA internally by going to the same address? (what else do i need to setup? )

    Thank you for your help.

If your OWA is set up w/o specifying hostnames (default), then it sounds like your router or DNS are not allowing access. I resolved a problem like this by placing a A record on my DNS server so that internal lookups resolve the FQN to my server's local IP address.

If you want to use the external name internally then you will need to use a split DNS system. http://exchange.sembee.info/network/split-dns.asp
