  • Exchange Generating NDRs

My exchange server 2003 is generating NDRs with the below error message when I restart my domain controller. I have two more domain controllers in the same site. But exchange is not contacting other domain controllers when one is down(I am not sure if it is contacting or not)

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    Charlsteve on
The recipient has been deleted or has no e-mail address.

Btw, I am not getting NDRs for all mails..only for few...

    Anyone has idea?

d00d... please post the numeric code as well. there are too many codes to keep up with, and the numbers help.

see if any of the possible causes are applicable to your situation.

have you hard-coded the exchange server to only contact one DC? check the 'directory access' tab on the server in question in system manager to find out...

Very surprising thing is that NDR is not displaying any SMTP error codes...(I copied the NDR contents as is in my earlier update)

DSaccess is not hard is showing all the GC and DC type connections to all domain controller but Config type connection to only one domain controller...

Also to give more clarity...This happened for several times when we rebooted DCs for different reasons...
