  • give administrator full mailbox server access

    Hi,
how can i give the administrator full mailbox's access to all information store.
i know how give to other user this full access but the administrator is already in the security and i don't want to break the inheritance on the server.
(once i have this doc that explain how to bring the security tab in the first organization and change the security in there and it's changed to all server)

    Thx

this is not helping me i need to give the administrator itself full permission and by default the administrator have Deny on the full permission and i don't want to break the inheritance chain.

If you don't want to break the inheritance then you have pretty much backed yourself in to a corner. The administrator account is denied access on purpose.

A good Exchange administrator doesn't need access to all mailboxes. I only need access under specific circumstances and grant the permissions as required. The only time I need global access is during a migration, when I will use a special account created for the process.

DON'T MESS AROUND WITH EXCAHNGE PERMISSION INHERITANCE!
create another administrative user (call it "super" or whatever). then grant it the "Read permissions" and "Full mailbox access" permissions.
to do so, in AD - go to the properties of each user and in the "exchange advanced" tab click "mailbox rights" and add the administrative user you just created.

            i found another way i don't know if it's a bug but it's working
open system manager then go to the server name properties on it then security tab then advanced and give the administrator full control there.
            it's working for me.

Yes, that should work. The reason is because the DENY permission is inherited, but the ALLOW permission is explicitly given to the object, and because of that, the ALLOW permission "wins".
