  • Public Folders Query

I have a problem creating public folders and assigning permissions to a certain group of people within our exchange organisation. I have been asked to create a public folder to hold mail and post items, this folder should be a Subfolder under a subfolder which is under the default All Public Folder tree. My problem is that when I create this public folder called Social Security Group under London Office which is under the All Public folder tree. I cannot grant any permissions to the four members of the group who are supposed to only be able to modify items in the group, each time I get an error message saying that the permissions could not be applied and that the client operation could not be performed.

Where is the best place to create Public folders, Is it in Outlook or in Exchange?? and where exactly do I need to go?? Thanks for your answers in advance. We run Exchange 2000 Server and Our Outlook is our email client.
