  • system manager- service in critical state/stopped

Ive got exchange 2003 running on a test network with 1 client, got everything working (owa,pop3 etc) but when I go into system manager, then servers, pick my server then properties then monitoring, Ive got microsoft exchange services in critical state all the time, Oh just looked again and it now has stopped.

Thing is I'm still recieving mail so what does this do?

The monitoring tools from the ESM have a bad reputation when it comes to realtime monitoring. I've seen this happen many times. As long as you're sure that the services are up and running don't bother with it too much.
