  • How can I change which port is used for OMA/ActiveSync

    Hi

I have a similar requirement. We have one IP address on our DSL and are trying to run SSL VPN and ActiveSync, both of which use 443. We have only one user with a smartphone but 5 or more mobile users based at different clients who will want to use the SSL VPN. Therefore the SSL VPN must use port 443.

How can I change which port is used for OMA/ActiveSync, from 443 to something such as 9443.

My understanding is that it's not a problem with the IIS side but that Windows Mobile has hardcoded ports 80 and 443 and cannot use anything else.

Please someone tell me I'm wrong!

    Thanks

    Barry

Re: Hard coded ports (80 & 443) & Active Sync problem

Barry I split you thread off because hijacking another members thread is not allowed. It also makes life confusing for all who post as the OP has no idea who is posting to what question. In the future if you have a question, START YOUR OWN THREAD. Thank you.

You are not wrong. EAS is hard coded to use port 443 and 80 only. You can try putting ports in to the configuration but it will be ignored.
I believe this was at the request of the mobile phone operators, who want to block nonstandard ports on their network.
