  • Remove existing Public Folder on Exchange server

I have two Exchange 2003 servers called XMAIL & XMAIL2. My goal is to move all users from XMAIL to XMAIL2 then get rid of XMAIL.

XMAIL2 has a public folder located at:
    XMAIL2\Domains Combined\Public Folder Store (XMAIL2)

I created a new PF store at:
    XMAIL2\General Public Folders\General (All Companies)

I now want to remove the "Public Folder Store (XMAIL2)" folder but can't.

When I try to delete this PF store, I get the error:

"You can not delete this public folder store because it contains folder replicas....."

I right-clicked "First Administrative Group\Folders\Public Folders" and I can see "Public stores associated to the folder tree:" and then two entries:
    1. Public Folder Store (XMAIL), Storage Group=Voyager Storage Group, Server=XMAIL
    2. Public Folder Store (XMAIL2), Storage Group=Domains Combined, Server=XMAIL2

So how do I remove the replication?

Re: Remove existing Public Folder on Exchange server

Sorry guys, I just found this:

    http://groups.google.dk/group/micros...ed8363df367fc4

See the post by "mhetherington" <[email protected]>. I right-clicked the "First Administrative Group\Folders\Public Folders" folder, clicked "Connect To", chose XMAIL2 and proceeded to remove the folders OWAScratchPad & StoreEvents.

I then was able to delete the PF from XMAIL2\Domains Combined\". It's amazing what can do for you after spending literally 2 days trawling every web site (no boasting pls Chris ).

      2 2 was 1 2.
