  • NetDiag DNS Test Error

I am getting the following error, when I do the netdiag:

    DNS test . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Passed
[WARNING] Cannot find a primary authoritative DNS server for the name
The name '' may not be registered in DNS.
PASS - All the DNS entries for DC are registered on DNS server '' and other DCs also have some of the names registered.

I have a Name Server with the same domain and child domain name, like Could that cause the problem I'm getting? Otherwise, all the dns settings are correct.

Also, my dns server houses about 5 different ip address.

    Re: NetDiag DNS Test Error

Is an external or an internal DNS server?
If it is an External DNS server then that is your problem. You have external DNS servers in your network configuration. The AD machines should not have any external DNS servers in their configuration, it should be to AD DCs only.
