  • Filtering addresses not in the GAL

I have Exchange Server running on Win SBS 2003, can I configure it to receive only messages from people that are on my Global Address List and filter (bounce them back) all the rest?

    Thanks in advance...

    Recipeint filtering.
You should also configure the tar pit to protect from directory harvest attacks.

Re: Filtering addresses not in the GAL

What I meant was that I only want to receive emails from people that I have in my address list. For example, if [email protected] is not in my list I don't want to receive any emails from him, I want them to be bounced back.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, is there a way to do that?

Look at Outlooks Junk Mail Options. there's one option that allows you do do that (with Contacts).

Thank you for the response, but is there a method to block these emails before they get to the user's mailbox? to bounce them back to the sender without taking up space on the server.

3rd party tools will allow you do manage the blocking lists centrally.
